What are the rules in the way you dress?

I rarely wear anything else than black. And I'm focused on high quality fabrics and comfortable fits. I do not need many different options, I try to change my jewellery pretty often and stick to the classics in my wardrobe.

Please describe your style in three words.

Black, functional, and androgynous.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Wearing too tight clothes, or just overdoing it. Less is more.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Wool, leather, silk and natural fabrics. And of course silver!

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Isabel Marant platform shoes in any combination.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Tokyo for their playfulness, Copenhagen for their casual-cool dressing, and finally Paris because they are so damn chic.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

In between, I think.

Celebrities and style...

Can be a dreadful combination!

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Great shirts!

A woman should always look like…

Natural and sexy in a low-key way.

Who taught you what you know about style?

I've learnt myself by living, trying, and failing.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

I have about twenty minutes to get ready every morning, so it's pretty easy. I grab a black pair of pants and a top made of silk, poplin or wool. I pair it with some nice shoes and jewellery to brighten up the day.

What is your biggest regret?

Some of my cheap buys at high street chains. I never do it anymore. It's such a waste of money.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are…

Stay true to yourself, style is individual and personal. Never wear anything uncomfortable, it shows. Trendy does not equal stylish.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Actually, I do. I always go for the black basics in the best possible quality. And it works almost every time. They stay in the closet for ages and I can wear them any day, any night.

We will never see you wearing…

A colourful outfit.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Maybe Haider Ackermann. He is not that new, but still emerging as a designer I believe. And the Olsens; I love the way The Row is growing into something unique.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Victoria Beckham, the last couple of years.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her skin.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

I have a hang-up on Rolex watches, so a treasure both in terms of value and number of wears.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

There are so many, it's hard to choose only one. Celiné and Stella McCartney.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…

Her shoes. Cheap copies look…cheap.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

I do not think so, rather the opposite. I think comfort is style, just don’t overdo it, of course.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

Emma Elwin, Swedish stylist and blogger.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

The devil is in the details.
