What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Taking it too seriously and planning too much. I'm not a big fan of over-matching or using too many eye candy pieces in one outfit.

Please describe your style in three words.

Dynamic, playful, and driven by emotions.

Do you believe in role models?

I definitely do. That's why I believe that everyone that has a voice in one way or another has a responsibility, as well as a chance, to inspire others.

What are your favourite fabrics?

I adore cotton in combination with leather. I also like fabrics with a soft hand such as cashmere.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Not really. I love having a playful and open approach to fashion.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Paris. They're classy, elegant and not too polished.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

I'd say bold.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

On a daily basis, I often go for a simple look that can work in many different settings such as ankle short jeans, a tailored blazer, pumps and a basic tee. I always wear discrete jewellery and a classy bag is a must.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

White tees! I'm always on the hunt for the perfect ones.

A woman should always look like…

She has tons of self confidence and is happy with herself. Attitude is everything.

Who taught you what you know about style?

I grew up being forced to go to art exhibitions every Sunday with my parents. I believe it's had a great impact on me, even though at the time I was often bored to death. I've also travelled a lot; this has given me a lot of inspiration over the years.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

I wish I could say that what I wear is based on my schedule, but I always wake up thinking “how do I FEEL today”.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are…

You'll never regret a timeless purchase. Style is all about integrity—trust your own taste. There are no absolute rules.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I love shopping when travelling, and I travel quite a lot! I try to plan what I actually want and need ahead of a new season. Since I'm quite impulsive, it's good to have a list in my head so I don’t buy a lot of stuff I don’t actually need. I always think how the pieces go with the rest of my wardrobe.

We will never see you wearing...

Isabel Marant Buck sneakers.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I'm all into Norwegian designers these days. I love what ́s going on in Oslo at the moment; so much energy! Amongst other Norwegians, I'm really impressed by FWSS (Fallwinterspringsummer) which are already doing well in Scandinavia. Admir Batlak is an extremely talented designer who deserves international recognition. Camilla Reinfjell is a new up-and-coming talent who has recently graduated and I'm exited to see what she does next.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

I'm a big fan of Leandra Medine for her playfulness. I love Hanneli Mustaparta's impeccable look, and the Swedish Columbine Smille.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My bags and my shoes, I guess.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

It's hard to refer to one specific image or moment, but back in 2001 I lived in Barcelona and I remember being totally blown away over the stories of what Tim Walker, who was at the time quite unknown, did for Italian Vogue…the adventurous, crazy and playful approach to fashion was something I totally fell in love with.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Stella McCartney, Acne Studios and Isabel Marant.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…

Her underwear!

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Absolutely not! I think especially in Scandinavia we're very aware of comfort. If something feels good to wear it often looks good as well.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

If you haven’t already interviewed her, I would say Hanneli Mustaparta. She has an inspiring and unique style.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

That you should look in the mirror and say positive things to yourself, every day. Be kind to yourself.
