The three essential things a man should know about style are?

Girls want a man, not a clothes horse. Classic doesn’t mean boring. Dress appropriately for occasions.

Please describe your style in three words.

Classic, masculine, sharp.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Trying something new when you are in a rush. It will always be on your mind that you styled it wrong.

Do you believe in role models?

Yes. It’s good to have someone, whether fictitious or real, to turn to for any kind of inspiration, direction, or associative comfort.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Brogues or Derby shoes without socks.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

London.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Bold. But in a conservative way. Is that cheating if I say that?

What are the rules in the way you dress?

Don’t try to be cool.

Celebrities and style...

Sometimes get it right.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Ties.

A man should always look like...

The man he wants to be.

Who taught you what you know about style?

No one in particular. This wasn’t really a topic or interest in my family. But my granddad was pretty cool and I always wanted to be like him when I got old.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Very quickly! I am not a morning person.

What is your biggest regret?

Nothing. Everything happens for a reason. I would be depressed or an alcoholic if I thought about all my mistakes or missed opportunities.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Drinking champagne after I spend lots of money.

We will never see you wearing...

Chinos. Or pink.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

Mr Steve Edge.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

They aren’t 'new' but in the luxury industry, the development of Erdem and Christopher Kane I find most exciting. Each has their own approach, but their attention to detail, business, and life is very admirable and gives me the most pleasure (and fun) to be part of.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is...

His shoes.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

Louis Vuitton army boots, a Burberry Prorsum fur collar coat, grandad’s tie, and my vintage ring.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not at all.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Prada.

Who would you like to recommend for €œMy Style€?

Mr Pontus Bjorkman from Acne.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

“Always be polite and don’t let the women do all the cleaning.” — My mother, obviously… ha ha.
