Is comfort an enemy of style?

While it can be for a fashion-driven person, this is not true for someone who dresses according to his body.

Please describe your style in three words.

Unique, casual, deconstructed.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

To wear dirty shoes.

Do you believe in role models?

No, I don’t.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Cottons and noble fabrics: I adore Solaro fabric!

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

I would say there are not. What counts is good taste.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

Italy, in Emilia-Romagna and in Puglia.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

What are the rules in the way you dress?

I always wear what my heart tells me, it is never something preplanned.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

A man should always look like...

As he truly is!

Who taught you what you know about style?

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It depends on the meetings that I have; I try not to be out of place.

What is your biggest regret?

Not going to the military school in order to become a pilot of fighter jets.

The three essential things a man should know about style are...

To be elegant, to have class, and to always polish his shoes.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

No, I tend to buy whatever excites me.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I can't really say that I follow or admire someone… except for Ralph Lauren!

We will never see you wearing...

Skirts or heels!

The most stylish person you have ever seen or met...

Seen: Steve McQueen. Met: myself!

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

The proportions. The length of his trousers and sleeves.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

I am not able to tell this: that’s innate.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is...

His shoes.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

A checked fabric coat that belonged to my father, a Shetland wool pullover from Japan, and my own pair of jeans.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

As I love vintage, I have to say RLL by Ralph Lauren.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Don’t let what you wear take you for a walk, but take what you wear for a stroll!
