The three essential things a man should know about style are...
Make sure the fit is right, learn how to accessorise, and dress for yourself.
Please describe your style in three words.
Personal. Comfortable. Universal.
Do you believe in role models?
I believe you can learn something from almost everybody; I try to take the best from people I respect.
Are there any style combinations that you object to?
No, to be honest. Just be yourself. Everyone has his or her own taste.
Which city has the best-dressed men?
Paris and then Tokyo.
Would you say that you are conservative or bold?
A combination of both.
What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?
Keep it simple and comfortable, with accessories adding the details.
Celebrities and style...
I don't pay much attention to it.
Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?
A man should always look like...
He is comfortable and confident.
How do you select your clothing every morning?
It depends on the weather and my schedule that day.
Do you have any shopping rituals?
I love shopping on my own schedule, so online shopping does the job for me.
We will never see you wearing...
What is the first thing you notice on a man?
His accessories, that's why I started Men In Cities. I wanted to make it as easy as possible for men to shop for accessories.
What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?
The shorts I made from a fabric bought in Lamu, Kenya and my hooded sweatshirt from Ollyantambo, Peru.
Is comfort an enemy of style?
The exact opposite in my opinion. Part of looking good is feeling good and comfortable.
The best words of advice you have ever heard?
Just go for it.
