Is comfort an enemy of style?

Comfort is not an enemy of style. Nor does "comfort" mean pyjamas. You can't just wear sweatpants your whole life. Eventually you'll want to date.

Please describe your style in three words.

Old fashioned, discerning, and charming.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Sacrificing all your comfort for style. You'll regret it in about an hour.

Do you believe in role models?

In a physical or moral sense? They're very different.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Grey flannel, heavy textured corduroy, saxony, linen, and tweed.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Blending casual wear with evening wear to create a "fun twist" on things kills me. Certain clothes are made for specific occasions and should be reserved for them. Develop willpower.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

I'm told Milan, but Stockholm knocked me out.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

I'd say conservative, but others have said bold.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

Make sure it compliments my skeletal figure.

Celebrities and style...

They're usually like peanut butter and jelly. However, we relish in the occasional peanut butter and tuna fish.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Hats.

A man should always look like...

The clothes he's wearing are his own.

Who taught you what you know about style?

Emily Post.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Based on the weather.

What is your biggest regret?

Not being taller.

The three essential things a man should know about style are...

Wear clothes that fit. Wear colours that accentuate the positive. Don't take it too seriously.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Yes, go alone.

We will never see you wearing...

Flip flops.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

Anyone before 1960.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

The girl standing next to him.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

Fred Astaire in "Easter Parade".

Which new designers do you follow and why?

You might as well ask me who the hottest young athlete is.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is...

All or nothing at all.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My accessories, including hand-me-down ties, cuff links, shirt studs, collar pins, pocket watches, fobs, and handkerchiefs.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Paul Stuart.

Who would you like to recommend for œMy Style€?

Andy Nishida. Good dressing, without the pretension.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Look to me as the anti-role model.
