Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

It depends on the day… it’s not the same when I play on the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival versus a festival deep inside the Brazilian jungle. I just follow my mood, as fashion is another way to express myself during a specific moment.

Please describe your style in three words.

Night. Smart. Black.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

When you want to imitate someone else.

Do you believe in role models?

Yes, they are a source of inspiration for the artists.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Not really, but people have to understand what works best with their body.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

Paris, London, Milan, and Tokyo.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

I trust my feelings and try to find the best mix between fashion and comfort.

Celebrities and style...

Is just like a meteor… we can’t predict the result.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Headphones.

A man should always look like...

A winner.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

I think about my program and choose the best items according to my schedule.

What is your biggest regret?

If you have regrets, you’re not heading in the right direction.

The three essential things a man should know about style are...

Know how to match colours. Be yourself and don’t hesitate to create your own style.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I'm always looking for interesting shops when traveling, and I go on two big spending sprees every year where I buy what I need for the season.

We will never see you wearing...

A t-shirt with a cannabis symbol or a pit bull.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

DJ Yellow.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

His hair.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

“L’amour fou” with Yves Saint Laurent and his lover, Pierre Berge.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Youn Chong Bak for Smalto. She has modernised the brand with her talent and elegance.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is...

A suit, and it needs to be tailor made to match his own figure.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

The first smoking jacket that I wore on the red carpet in Cannes.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

No, and for me it needs to be a signature style of the best designers.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Tom Ford and Hedi Slimane.

Who would you like to recommend for €œMy Style€?

My friend, partner, and musician Michael Malih.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” — Oscar Wilde
