What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Forgetting their personal style by becoming a fashion victim.

Please describe your style in three words.

Cool, effortless, and glamorous.

Do you believe in role models?

For lack of a better word, yes...but I prefer to use the word mentor.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Pure cotton and definitely leather.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Not really, unless it's something that is not flattering on the body.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Truthfully, I think women in London look great. Many cosmopolitan cities have an unspoken 'uniform' sometimes, whereas London does not. Women experiment and are individual in their dress sense.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

I always try to think of my body type and what looks best when I'm updating my look. With that being said, I do not let trends dictate my style unless it's something that looks right.

Celebrities and style...

Can sometimes compliment each other if it is done with a creative yet discerning eye.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

I usually go for a cool, long dress which can work for day or evening. Also, I always wear my rings – I feel lost without them.

A woman should always look like…

She is comfortable and, above all, confident with what she is wearing.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It really depends on my schedule...if I'm travelling, or have a ton of meetings, I will usually opt for something very comfortable but definitely cool.

What is your biggest regret?

I don't really have any, but if I had to choose one I would say not starting my business earlier. I really believe a woman should be wearing a beautiful piece of jewellery at all times; it does not have to be expensive, just exquisite.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are…

Understand your body type. Be individual. Stand straight, show confidence.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I always make sure I have enough time to really look and understand the fit, fabric and all the other aspects of the item I am about to purchase.

We will never see you wearing...

Anything made of polyester.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I love Haider Ackermann lately; he really makes beautiful pieces with a cool sensibility. I also love Kaufmanfranco, along with Paul Andrew shoes...they are both really great.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

I once sat next to Jackie O years ago, I still remember how fantastic she looked. She had an iconic style which still translates into fashion today.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

Treasured items are probably the riskiest pieces I’ve bought: a gold Haider Ackermann leather blazer, a red Yves Saint Laurent biker jacket, a pink Gucci fur, and a long black Grecian dress by Kaufmanfranco.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

Horst's Mainbocher Corset photo which was taken in 1939. I love that woman's back.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Haider Ackermann.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…

Trousers...there's nothing worse than seeing trousers which are too tight with a visible panty line.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not always...but sometimes it is.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

Sarah Harris from British Vogue.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

“I have enough jewellery” — said no one, ever (author unknown).
