Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Yes, men and Ugg boots. It’s a combination that should be punishable by imprisonment.

Please describe your style in three words.

Starts with socks.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Not looking outside at the weather. There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong outfit.

Do you believe in role models?

Yes, as long as your role model is Bill Murray.

What are your favourite fabrics?

I like a wooly jumper. So wool I guess.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Depends on what the day requires. I can do both.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

Don't get dressed in the dark. Never wear Ugg boots. Finish off your outfit by holding a copy of Esquire's new bi-annual The Big Black Book. It will make you look really up to date and informed. ;)

Celebrities and style...

Are boring unless it's Bill Murray.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Sunspel boxers.

A man should always look like...

A man.

Who taught you what you know about style?

Lots of different people. Bill Murray, Bill Murray and Bill Murray.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Every morning, the first thing I do is get out of bed and make my way to the swimming pool. I think of my outfit whilst doing my fifty laps in swimming trunks.

What is your biggest regret?

I really try not to do regrets. Oh I do have one, but that is a secret.

The three essential things a man should know about style are...

Don't wear Ugg boots. Don't let your mum buy you clothes. Always wear stuff that fits.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Not really, I do it when necessary or when I feel like it. No great rituals.

We will never see you wearing...

Ugg boots.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

Bill Murray. Unfortunately, I have not met him — yet.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

A woman.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

Lots of images, basically of Bill Murray.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Jonathan Saunders, he does really amazing genuine clothes. Also, he was in the same year as me at art school and I like to see my contemporaries achieve great things. I love A.P.C., I just do, subtle, stylish and fits nice. Although, not the best made clobber. Used to love men's Miu Miu, but they stopped making it. They need to start again. I'm fond of Mercedes-Benz trucker range. It’s a long story, Google it though. They do a fine denim jacket.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is...

A man should pay close attention to everything he wears, but if you’re gonna put a suit on, make sure it fits. There is nothing worse than a guy in an ill-fitting suit; it does the opposite of what a suit is meant to do.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

An Edifice pea coat. I have had people come up to me on the street and ask to buy it from me. It's the business.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Na, fashion is the enemy of style. Comfort is good, and you can do both these days, easily.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

Bill Murray.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

It's not what happens in life, it's the way you deal with it.
