Which new designers do you follow and why?

Thu Thu — fusing inspiration from her German and Vietnamese heritage, she delivers a truly new and fresh womenswear brand. I love her innovative approach and desire to celebrate her roots. Sophia Webster — these shoes are well-priced, well-made and are the perfect eye candy. I want a pair in every style as these make me want to go out and have FUN — work or play! Venessa Arizaga — all of her accessories are just brilliant! Colourful, humorous and cheeky! A great mix of mediums.

Please describe your style in three words.

Fun, chic, and sexy.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Over thinking.

Do you believe in role models?

Yes, as long as they are from the 80s.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Buttery leather or suede, cashmere, and denim.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

No, anything can work as long as it’s on the right person!

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Oh, I can’t answer that… each city has a different vibe, and I love that.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Depends on which side of the bed I get out of.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

No rules.

Celebrities and style...

Are two words that when used together often result in a lot of flesh.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Jackets!

A woman should always look like...

A woman!

Who taught you what you know about style?

My mother, MTV, and Italian Vogue.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It seems that each week I favour five or six particular items, so what I wear depends on how to revolve them into new looks each day.

What is your biggest regret?

Not having gone to the gym this morning.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

Two things: style is a reflection of your personality and its appreciation is subjective!

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Spending more than I should.

We will never see you wearing...

Yellow. Unfortunately it makes me look like I have jaundice.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

I was completely in awe when I met Shabana Azmi. She just oozed charisma. She was elegant, intelligent and commanded this incredible audience wherever she walked or spoke. It felt like she was this ethereal goddess! Style inside and out!

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her posture. Good posture can make someone incredibly attractive and has as much impact as a good haircut or outfit.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

The coat hangers. It’s true! They all match. I don’t like to have a huge amount of clothing, so I am often passing things on after my initial item crush has subsided.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

Estée Lauder advertisements of Paulina Porizkova.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Givenchy.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

Her lingerie.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

No! It is its best friend. Looking uncomfortable is not chic, and you can only hide your discomfort for so long!

Who would you like to see next in œMy Style€?

Barbara Bonner.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

The hardest thing to learn in this life is that people don’t think the same way as you!
