Q: The three essential things a woman should know about style are…
Work with the shape of your body, dress to please yourself, and don’t try to follow a trend if it does not suit you.
Q: Please describe your style in three words.
Chic, timeless, elegant.
Q: What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?
Wearing something just because it looks great rather than being comfortable/functional, i.e. wearing tall heels when you need to spend the day on your feet.
Q: Do you believe in role models?
I believe in aspiration.
Q: What are your favourite fabrics?
Leather, silk, cotton.
Q: Are there any style combinations that you object to?
Fashion is about personal expression; what is good for one person may
not be good for another.
Q: Which city has the best-dressed women?
Women in Paris are classically chic and women in London
are very fashion-forward.
Q: Would you say that you are conservative or bold?
It depends on my mood!
Q: What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?
I have no set rules.
Q: Celebrities and style…
Do not always go hand in hand!
Q: One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?
Hermès Birkin handbags!
Q: A woman should always look like…
She has dressed to please herself.
Q: Who taught you what you know about style?
My mother—she is incredibly chic.
Q: How do you select your clothing every morning?
I think about what I have to do during the day and then head to my dressing room to select something based on how I am feeling.
Q: Your biggest regret is…
Not keeping a lot of clothes that [later] have come back around in style.
Q: Do you have any shopping rituals?
I wish I could get out to the shops more but alas, my schedule does not always permit. I have discovered the joys of online shopping!
Q: We will never see you wearing…
Sportswear! (Except when working out.)
Q: Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen/met?
Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn.
Q: What is the first thing you notice on a woman?
Her energy and confidence.
Q: The one image that defined your approach to style?
There has never been one image; I am constantly inspired and love to seek out new designers and styles.
Q: One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…
Jeans. Believe it or not, there is an art to finding a pair of jeans that really works for you. Once you find them, buy in bulk!
Q: Is comfort an enemy of style?
It doesn’t have to be.
Q: The best word of advice you have ever heard?
Dress to flatter your figure.
