Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Not really! As long as you own it, go for it. But not saying I'll love it.

Please describe your style in three words.

Clean, classic, tomboyish.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Trying too hard.

Do you believe in role models?

Of course.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Linen, worn-in denim, and cashmere.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Paris, easily.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

A bit of both. Although Matt and Alex (editor's note: Orley) will probably say I'm sometimes a little too bold in my opinions.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

Only to feel confident and comfortable.

Celebrities and style...

Have nothing to do with one another.

One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Socks and underwear.

A woman should always look like...

Herself.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My grandparents, Edie and Eddie Creed. They each have their own look, and have stuck with it for 90-plus years.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

First I check the weather, then I usually rotate the same few things over and over until I feel like a change.

What is your biggest regret?

I really try hard not to have any… there is something to be learned from every situation.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

It's entirely individual and it's not so serious.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Only that Matt (editor's note: Orley) approves.

We will never see you wearing...

Something that's not me.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

We know a lot of young designers in New York and I admire each of them for taking the risk and going for it, because it's really not that easy (although it's definitely worth it).

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

See answer above regarding my grandparents.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

If they've pulled it together.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

The irreplaceable ones, like my really worn-in jeans and an old Helmut Lang leather jacket.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

It doesn't exist.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

It's something that is constantly changing.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

Her attitude.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Probably the opposite.

Who would you like to recommend for €œMy Style€?

Footwear designer (and friend of Orley), Melisa Denizeri.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Everyone has an opinion.
