What are the rules in the way you dress?
Wear what makes you feel confident. I'd rather be overdressed than under, but never over the top!
Please describe your style in three words.
French, 60's, and rock 'n' roll.
What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?
Being overtly sexy.
Do you believe in role models?
Of course! We always need to strive to be the best version of ourselves.
What are your favourite fabrics?
Denim, leather, and cashmere.
Are there any style combinations that you object to?
Yes, I find spot on trends to be vulgar.
Which city has the best-dressed women?
Paris, of course.
Would you say that you are conservative or bold?
I lean more on the bold side, however I have refined my tastes as I get older and learned that less is usually more.
Celebrities and style...
Do not always make a great outfit.
Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?
Shoes and bags. I am a self-confessed shoe fiend.
A woman should always look like…
An expression of herself.
Who taught you what you know about style?
Films mostly; my cinematic icons as well as musicians with great style have deeply influenced my taste over the years.
How do you select your clothing every morning?
Ugh, no rhyme or reason to it. I either wake up knowing exactly what I want to wear or it's a disaster.
What is your biggest regret?
Not going to university to study more.
We will never see you wearing...
Uggs or sweatpants.
Which new designers do you follow and why?
Mara Hoffman; I love her use of graphics and colour! So imaginative and psychedelic. Bella Freud for her very clever use of phrases on her jumpers. Tabitha Simmons makes a perfect shoe every time! And I adore Charlotte Olympia's brilliantly quirky sense of humour in her designs.
Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?
I love Emmanuelle Alt's style.
What is the first thing you notice on a woman?
Her hair and the way she carries herself.
The one image that defined your approach to style...
Every single photo still of Brigitte Bardot in Jean-Luc Godard's Contempt.
What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?
My collection of Issa dresses, my Hermès Mador watch my husband bought me, and my hats.
Which fashion house never fails to impress you?
Marchesa, Alice Temperley, Céline, Isabel Marant, Chloé, Laurence Dacade, Chanel, and Valentino.
Who would you like to recommend for My Style?
Ambre Dahan from Walk in My Closet. :-)
Is comfort an enemy of style?
No, it doesn't have to be. Think of denim!
