The three essential things a woman should know about style are…

Observe your icons of style, and learn well from them. Stand out — don’t do things exactly as someone else has done. Invest in key pieces that you can reinvent and wear over many years.

Please describe your style in three words.

Eclectic, ladylike, and quirky.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Being uncomfortable.

Do you believe in role models?

Absolutely. It is so important to have mentors who believe in you and give you great advice. Life can get rough sometimes!

What are your favourite fabrics?

I adore silks and linens.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Sneakers with a suit, unless you’re a supermodel.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Paris or New York.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Conservative in my dressing and bold with my accessories.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

I always strive to not follow trends and be a fashion victim — the clothing I wear has to suit my frame, style, and point of view.

Celebrities and style...

Only go together when the celebrity uses her own mind to influence her sense of fashion.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Lanvin shoes and Marni bags.

A woman should always look like…

She is confident.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My grandmother, Elizabeth Frost.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Quickly! I always seem to be in a huge rush.

What is your biggest regret?

None!

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I like to shop alone on the weekends with a great coffee in tow.

We will never see you wearing...

Overalls.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I love Mary Katrantzou, as well as Emilia Wickstead and Stella Jean. They are all bold.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Tilda Swinton or Yasmin Sewell.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her shoes.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

All of my Lanvin pieces that I’ve collected over the years, and of course my Lulu Frost collection.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

An image of Elsa Schiaparelli at work.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Alber Elbaz of Lanvin.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…

Her undergarments.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not at all! Comfort is style’s best friend.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

Sarah Sophie Flicker.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

To thine own self be true.
