Which new designers do you follow and why?

Alexandre Plokhov. I like his latest men’s collection and the way he approaches fashion.

Please describe your style in three words.

Independent, strong, timeless.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Having fear of what others would think.

Do you believe in role models?

Sometimes.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Natural fabrics.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

No.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

I am not able to point at one in particular. I only like the style of some men in each city, but those men are normally minorities.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Bold.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

Be myself.

Celebrities and style...

Generally go to different parties.

One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Black trousers and bracelets.

A man should always look like...

He is sure of himself.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My grandfather.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

I normally spend thirty seconds thinking about it the night before.

What is your biggest regret?

I can’t say it.

The three essential things a man should know about style are.

Be yourself, be yourself and be yourself.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I think about the type of piece I would like to have and I try to find the best piece that fits that idea.

We will never see you wearing...

A pair of pink shorts, but I enjoy seeing other people wearing them.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

David Bowie.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

His clothes.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

I really do not have that image. It is more like a picture book.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is...

His trousers.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

A shirt from the mid ‘80s from Le Garage and a Dior Homme by Hedi Slimane blazer.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not at all.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Comme des Garçons.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

There are a hundred different points between one and one hundred.
