Do you believe in role models?

Absolutely. I have had the chance to work alongside amazing editors and stylists throughout my career, from Brana Wolf and Melanie Ward to Jim Moore and Paul Cavaco. You should try and learn something every day.

Please describe your style in three words.

Easy, refined, evolving.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

It is easy to over think it. Check the weather and look at your schedule for the day. Then, put on what makes you happy.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Denim. Especially black denim.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

No. Typically the most shocking combinations are the most inspiring.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

Brooklyn, USA.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Somewhere in the grey area.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

My rules are always changing.

Celebrities and style...

Are rare and strange bedfellows.

One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

My apartment cannot hold another coat.

A man should always look like...

The best version of himself.

Who taught you what you know about style?

I am lucky to have amazing friends that inspire me. Style or otherwise they have taught me all I know.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Check the iPhone calendar and go from there.

What is your biggest regret?

Well, I regret not buying an apartment in Williamsburg five years ago. But, life is all about mistakes. It’s mistakes that define who we are and keep the journey interesting.

The three essential things a man should know about style are...

Style is much more than the clothes on your back. It's demonstrated in everything from the books you read and the music you play to the drink you order and the company you keep. Etiquette is the most stylish thing a man can possess.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I prefer to shop alone.

We will never see you wearing...

Never say never.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

Man — George Cortina, woman — Kate Lanphear.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

I have a thing for guys with great hair.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is...

I’m about the total look, but bad underwear is unforgivable.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My tuxedo has a special place in my heart. So many amazing memories.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Yes. Have you been to an airport recently?

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Dries Van Noten.

Who would you like to see next in My Style€?

Justin O’Shea.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

“The better you look, the more you see.” — Bret Easton Ellis, Glamorama.
