We will never see you wearing...

Never say never, however, trainers in a non-fitness related setting would be a big surprise.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Doing it in the dark.

Do you believe in role models?

When you’re younger yes — after that I think mentors are more useful.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Leather, nubuck, and more leather!

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Not really, I object to things that don’t fit anymore. I like interesting combinations.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

That depends on what they are dressed for; London is interesting, but maybe New York has the best relaxed casual look.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Probably both in equal measure!

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

Socks and pants should match. And if in doubt wear more… layering.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Shoes!

A woman should always look like...

She’s in control.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My mother, along with quite a bit of trial and error!

How do you select your clothing every morning?

From the shoes up, after that it’s a balance between what mood I’m in and what’s going on that day.

What is your biggest regret?

Worrying too much.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

Challenge yourself to look better, to make yourself feel better, and it’s all in the mind.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Not really.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I love the new Kenzo collection, if that counts. Other new designers — Yunus and Eliza, Palmer Harding.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Kate Moss.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her shoes.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

Original Ferragamo shoes made by Salvatore himself, also my Hardy Amies gold jacket from the 80s. My current favourites are my Todd Lynn coat, Hannah Martin ring, and Holly Fulton shirt.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Currently Kenzo, but I always love Martin Margiela, Prada, and Alexander Wang.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

Her shoes.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

No, in my world they are best friends, but their relationship is best kept a secret.

Who would you like to see next in €œMy Style€?

Yunus and Eliza.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

You’ve got to be in it to win it, so just carry on.
