Do you believe in role models?

I believe that role models help us reach where we are now. I always make sure to surround myself with people who inspire me.

Please describe your style in three words.

Elegant, conservative, and full of statement.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Wearing something that doesn't match his body just to follow a trend.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Leather, denim, chamois, and cashmere.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Honestly, it depends. It all depends on the style itself.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

Milan.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

It's a combination of both, but if I have to choose one, then I’m more conservative.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

As long as I’m comfortable in my outfit, that matters the most.

Celebrities and style...

Some commit fashion disasters, and some make really interesting statements.

One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Bow ties.

A man should always look like...

Nothing less than a MAN.

Who taught you what you know about style?

People around me. Visiting fashion capitals and meeting lots of people taught me a lot and is still teaching me.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It depends on my mood and the weather outside, but I make sure to pair every outfit with a bow tie.

Your biggest regret is...

Not starting AMDmode.com when I graduated from university five years back.

The three essential things a man should know about style are...

Don't follow the trends blindly. You need to have at least one bow tie in your wardrobe. To figure the size of a woman’s bra without even asking her.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Not really.

We will never see you wearing...

Heels.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

I can’t mention one name; I’ll be extremely biased, since I’m always surrounded with fashionable people around me.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

His shoes, and his face.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

Definitely there is no one image.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Wooyoungmi and Juun J. I love Korean designs — they truly make a statement, and they stand out a lot.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is...

The must-have pieces for each season, and the grooming articles.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My designed leather bow ties; I just love them.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

On the contrary, as long as people don’t think being comfortable is being trashy.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

There is more than one. As a designer, I believe Dolce and Gabbana and Massimiliano Giornetti — they just know how to play it safe and satisfy each taste.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

People who don't believe in your talent, you shouldn't believe in their existence.
