Are there any style combinations that you object to?

I don't necessarily love it when trends make people dress in the same way. Style is about expressing yourself, so I don't think there are any right or wrong combinations; it's about how you mix your ideas and translate them into style.

Please describe your style in three words.

Simple, eclectic, and casual.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Not feeling comfortable in what they are wearing.

Do you believe in role models?

I get inspired by real people around me. My role model is my grandfather; his way of being has taught me very much.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Linen, cashmere, and denim.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

Every city has its own identity, but out of experience, while I was living in New York I realised that it's one of the cities with the greatest potential when it comes to menswear.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

I am a little bit of both.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

I have no rules. As long as what I'm wearing is 100 per cent me, I have no do's or don'ts.

Celebrities and style...

I like the style of music artists the most, because they express their music ideals through clothes as well.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Fedoras.

A man should always look like…

He's confident.

Who taught you what you know about style?

It became my own passion, so I started feeding my curiosities about fashion through the years.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It depends on the mood. I usually start creating my outfit by choosing a jacket first.

What is your biggest regret?

I have none.

The three essential things a man should know about style are…

It's an evolution of yourself, being inspired is fine but imitation is lack of personality, and taking risks makes you realise what fits you best.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I usually shop for things when I need them. If I think something is missing for a particular outfit that I have in mind, I look for it until I find it.

We will never see you wearing...

Bras. :) My style evolves constantly so I never know, I might hate something today and maybe love it tomorrow.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

I think Nick Wooster has a great sense of style.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

His shoes.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

An old picture of my grandfather I saw in my grandmother's album. He was wearing a complete white linen suit.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Umit Benan and Art Comes First, because they took on old school style, added a personal touch and created amazing pieces.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is…

His suits.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My grandpa's jackets and trousers.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Style is about confidence as I said, and confidence is strictly connected to feeling good in what you're wearing.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Giorgio Armani.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

My girlfriend, Patricia Manfield.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

You can be whoever you want to be.
