Which city has the best-dressed women?

That’s a tough one. I love the Parisian elegance, the way women dress up in London, the way they dare to experiment in New York, and the way we dress down casually in Copenhagen.

Please describe your style in three words.

Minimalistic, wearable, cool.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

That of not being true to her own style.

Do you believe in role models?

Yes, indeed.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Lace, leather, and wool.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Not as long as they are personal and true.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Conservative.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

I always look for high quality items in black, grey, and white colours, along with a few coloured details and slim lines. I combine classics such as ballerinas, pumps, blazers and slim-fit jeans with items of the season.

Celebrities and style...

Are often two sides of the same coin.

One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Can I choose two? Shoes and bags.

A woman should always look like...

Herself! But she should always remember to look her best by having her shoes polished and her clothes neat and clean.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My mother inspired me to love fashion at an early age, as she bought me the cutest outfits.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

I don’t have a specific formula — sometimes the weather decides for me. Sometimes I get inspired by something the day before, but it mostly depends on my particular mood for that day.

What is your biggest regret?

Regarding fashion? Probably the multi-coloured pants I bought (and wore a lot) when I was fourteen and my red curled hair at the same age.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

Be true to your own style (and sometimes dress up for your boyfriend/husband).

Do you have any shopping rituals?

When attending Fashion Weeks, I always pay a visit to Céline, Joseph, Balenciaga, and Chanel.

We will never see you wearing...

A multi-coloured outfit and Buffalos.

Which new designers do you admire and why?

I follow Muuse.com closely — they are great at spotting new talents.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Audrey Hepburn is my eternal source of inspiration. She has fostered my admiration of everything minimalistic.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her complexion and her accessories.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My wedding ring. Also my watch! After finishing my studies, I put money aside for the watch each month until I could afford it. I have worn it every day since.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Chanel always manages to be both innovative and classic. That’s what Karl is so good at — he defines the present by interpreting the movements around us, while at the same time keeping the classic Chanel integrity.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

Her shoes. Never wear dirty shoes!

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Absolutely not. A comfortable woman will always outshine the uncomfortable one. With that said, it’s okay if your feet hurt a bit.

Who would you like to see next in œMy Style€?

My ‘name sister’ Cécile Narinx from Elle Holland.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Always spend a penny less than you have.
