What are the rules in the way you dress?

Know what works for you, your body, and skin. Dip in and out of fashion trends. If something works for you buy five of it, and more in different colours, and you’ll never run out.

Please describe your style in three words.

Considered, striped-back, easy.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Putting something on back-to-front, even if you’re doing it on purpose.

Do you believe in role models?

Yes.

What are your favourite fabrics?

I’m wearing denim, jersey, wool. I think denim and jersey are my go-to fabrics.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Badly matched socks with suits.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

Stockholm.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Conservative.

Celebrities and style...

Sometimes go hand in hand, you can’t buy style; it needs to come from within you.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Levi’s 520 jeans.

A man should always look like...

The best he can be.

Who taught you what you know about style?

I think myself—from observing people.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It depends on what I’m doing that day. Most days I’ll be in an old T-shirt and jeans, a comfy jumper, boots, and maybe a bobble hat. If I have an important meeting or date, I’ll pick out something extra or a new piece that I’d like to wear to feel good. It might be an amazing accessory, a piece of jewellery, or some cool shoes.

What is your biggest regret?

One summer all I wore was a really oversized Sean Combs white T-shirt. Not a good look.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Go to Liberty in London, the assistants are really helpful and the collections have been well-edited.

We will never see you wearing...

Anything not made well.

The most stylish person you have ever seen...

Natalie Massenet.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

Grooming, style, aftershave, ring.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

I like Robert Pattinson in the Dior Homme campaign. I also love the aftershave.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

J.W. Anderson because I remember him from college.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

I keep my wardrobe concise and don’t treasure many pieces. There’s really nothing like wearing something for the first few times. Pieces like leather jackets and leather accessories last longer though and get a lot better with age.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not all the time. The best clothes should be stylish, well made, and feel amazing to wear.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Our Legacy, McQ, Gloverall, Levi’s, Simeon Farrar, because I buy their clothes.

Who would you like to recommend for €œMy Style€?

Robert Pattinson.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Make a decision and the truth will set you free.
