One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…

A piece of clothing a woman should always invest in is a great tailored coat. No matter what’s underneath, you can walk with aplomb.

Please describe your style in three words.

Easy, clean, tailored.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Leaving the house uncomfortable.

Do you believe in role models?

I believe in muses—anyone who you aspire to become or inspires you is motivation to think bigger.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Wool gabardine, cashmere, cotton.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Lace, frills and pink.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Paris.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

It depends on my mood.

Easy and effortless.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Blazers.

A woman should always look like…

She is having fun.

Who taught you what you know about style?

It’s innate.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It is completely dependent on mood, followed closely by function.

What is your biggest regret?

I should have invested in Instagram.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are…

Confidence, effortlessness, have fun—clothes should make you happy.

We will never see you wearing...

Nude-coloured tights.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Rosie Assoulin and Isa Arfen for their plays on colour and proportion.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Anyone in Paris.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Their smile.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My custom navy FSC Le Smoking suit, a David Webb panther ring with emerald eyes given to me by my aunt, and the Cartier Love bracelet my mother gave me—she bought it for herself the year I was born.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

Phoebe Philo ducking in her turtleneck with a coat draped on her shoulders, shot by David Sims.

Which designer/fashion house never fails to impress you?

Céline and The Row.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Comfort is confidence—that is the only indication that someone has good style.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

Selby Drummond of Vogue magazine.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

“There are only two kinds of failures, those that do and don’t think and those that think and don’t do”.
