The three essential things a woman should know about style are…

Trust your taste. Buy timeless pieces. Feel comfortable in what you are wearing.

Please describe your style in three words.

Simple, spontaneous, effortless.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

I would say overthinking your outfit.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Silk, cashmere, and leather. I love the way they look and also how they feel on the skin.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

I am not a big fan of multiple prints.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Paris, without a doubt. I also love the coolness of some London girls.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

I would say conservative, but in a bold way.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

I follow my instinct, and always wear the first outfit I have in mind.

Celebrities and style…

Do not always go together.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

It would have to be more than one. White T-shirts, shoes, and jewellery.

A woman should always look like…

She hasn’t tried too hard.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My mother.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

According to the weather and my mood.

What is your biggest regret?

In regards to fashion? Giving away a Prada brocade coat.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I just follow my instinct. I have decided to always buy what I really fall in love with, whether I need it or not. Plus, there are some categories of items in my closet that I can never have enough of, so whenever I find something similar, I just buy it.

We will never see you wearing...

Platform sneakers.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

There are quite a few and for different reasons. I love pieces from Alexander Wang and Anthony Vaccarello because they are contemporary, strong, and give you a certain ‘attitude’ when you wear them. My favourite designer ever is Nicolas Ghesquière; I still have and wear pieces from his collections at Callaghan and Balenciaga. I also admire the wind of change that Alessandro Michele is bringing at Gucci, even if his version of woman doesn’t entirely match with my own.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

My mother in the 70’s and 80’s. Kate Moss because she has the really effortless coolness. Carine Roitfeld for her natural sexiness.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her manicure and her smile.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

A vintage Yves Saint Laurent suede jacket from my mother, a Prada leather skirt with a mirror detail, and an Hermès blue cashmere jacket with studded gold buttons.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

My mother in the 70’s wearing an apple green, boucle wool robe manteau, Chanel slingback shoes, and a crocodile leather bag. She was stunning and uber stylish.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

That would be Prada.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…

Her underwear.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not at all. You can be comfortable and stylish, especially during this period in fashion.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Buy timeless pieces and mix them with items that are on trend now. Find your own style and stick to it.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

If you haven’t interviewed her already, Sienna Miller.
