The three essential things a man should know about style are…

Style as an idea is personal, and it's better left undefined. Whilst getting dressed, think about context, comfort and proportions. More importantly, stop thinking about it once you are out of the house.

Do you believe in role models?

Yes, I do.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My father let me observe his demeanour but allowed me to make my own mistakes.

The one image that defined your approach to style.

All those images where I can’t remember the clothes.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Passionate.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Based on context and colour.

What are your favourite fabrics?

That is like asking a parent to chose his/her favourite child. I do strongly believe that wool is the ultimate fibre.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

Gifts from my grandmother.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

The uncomfortable ones.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Repeating a mistake.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is…

Every article he already owns or plans to own. Enjoying what you own is key.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

The experienced men of Northern Italy (that do not work in the clothing industry) seem to have the right attitude towards it all.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

His manners.

A man should always look...

Purposeful.

Celebrities and style...

Is a work in progress.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Leonardo Genova, currently the head of all product at ISAIA Napoli.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

Leonardo Genova, followed by the legendary quintet of Antonio Ciongoli, Brian Cook, Edward Bertouch, Glen Allsop, and Nick Ragosta.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

“People in those old times had convictions; we moderns only have opinions.” ― Heinrich Heine
